So I couldn't find a good dropshipper for my niche so I'm taking the affiliate route.

Is anyone familiar with Google Affiliates? I'm trying to find which affiliate program I should join since Google Affiliates shows me most, if not all affiliate programs for my chosen product.

How do I know which product/program to join? They all offer the same %'s for the most part. If I want to link to all the products do I join multiple affiliate programs?

Seems kind of cool, any sales made get directly put into my adsense account!

let me know if you guys can help!

Thanks in advanced

As a starting point I would do a search for your keyword phrase in Google and take a close look at the top 10 ranking retail websites for that keyword phrase. Compare their websites and catalogs and look at their affiliate programs. Sign up as an affiliate with a couple of the best looking websites that you think are leaders in the industry. The reason for going this route is the simple fact that shoppers on Google will be given the same choices. So whatever you end up considering the best option is very likely what shoppers will end up deciding on as well..

Obviously, the better commission % is a big factor in your decision as well, and you will also need to "feel out" the different programs and see what one converts the best. Start off with your best guesses, knowing that your site will evolve over time to become better performing & more profitable!

Alright,

I got the Z next to my name!! I'm waiting for the zulu cart to be set up and the name server change to take place. I'll start on everything in the morning.

Unfortunately, Google Affiliates shut down my account because my site wasn't actually up yet. Bummer.. So I'm gonna get some amazon products up there with content and some pages(any suggestions on this??), apply for another affiliate program that's not through google, then reapply for the google affiliates program later.

Amazon commissions suck IMO. As far as setting up the site, is everything relatively the same as the dropshipper model? I've made review sites for amazon in the past, is this what I'm forced to do ?  Undecided

Let me know along with any other suggestions! It is much appreciated! Thanks in advanced!

You set it up in the same way (no need for SSL at this point though if everything is affiliate because no shopping cart or credit card processing is needed.

If you sell enough products in a month, the amazon commission % increases.  So it can be ok.. you may also want to check out commission junction as well though, a lot of manufacturers offer their products through them.

Yes, thanks for stepping in Geoff!

Also keep in mind that MANY retailers run their own on-site affiliate program. That's why I recommend searching Google for your targeted keyword phrase and visiting each of the top ranking retailer sites 1 at a time.
