TYPES OF PAID ADVERTISING:
- Pay Per Click (PPC) - You pay a set amount each time a person clicks on your ad and comes to your site (examples: Google AdWords, Microsoft Ad Center, Yahoo, BizRate, Amazon, etc.)
- Pay Per Impression (PPI) - You pay a set amount each time your ad is displayed on a page (whether or not the ad is clicked on)
- Banner Ads - You pay a set fee on a monthly basis to have your banner ad displayed on a certain page for a 30-day period (banner ads oftentimes qualify as backlinks and can provide some SEO value)
- Affiliate Programs - You pay a set percentage of the order total (or a set amount per order) on a per-sale basis when an affiliate (advertiser) sends someone to your store who makes a purchase
